Divided by Design at Bloodstock 2024!

Divided by Design recently took the stage at Bloodstock Open Air festival after securing their spot by winning the Leeds Metal 2 the Masses competition. Here's what RockFlesh had to say about their show. "Divided By Design kicked off their set with a display of instrumental prowess that left the crowd mesmerized. It’s clear to see that they meaningfully craft melodies that transcend the limitations of traditional vocals, while remaining a three-piece allows them to fully explore the depth of the rhythm section in those segments that allow the guitar a break. Their performance was nothing short of a masterclass in progressive metal, pushing the boundaries of what instrumental music can achieve."

BIO

Distinguished UK progressive metal project Divided by Design are set to release their highly anticipated new album, Stages to Osiris: Rebirth—a complete reimagining of their acclaimed 2020 debut, Stages to Osiris. Conceptually driven by the stages of grief, the album unfolds from denial through to acceptance, offering a deeply emotional journey underscored by the band’s hallmark technical mastery and ambitious instrumental songwriting. Having built a reputation for pushing sonic boundaries with releases such as Irretraceable Steps (2022), The Fear of Being Forgotten (2023), and most recently A Canvas for the Universe (2023), Divided by Design now revisit their origins with the benefit of years of growth, experience, and innovation. Media outlets have praised the band’s discography extensively, with Stages to Osiris described by Off the Hook as “undoubtedly one of the best metal albums” and Angry Wolf Music Reviews calling it “a complex progressive masterpiece.”

Since their inception, Divided by Design have steadily risen as one of the UK’s most exciting independent progressive acts. Guitarist Liam Stephenson and Drummer/Producer Tom Chambers have cultivated a dedicated online following, with Liam’s virtuosic playing amassing 38.8k followers, while Tom commands an audience of 55.6k followers, both amassing millions of views. In 2024, the band cemented their live credentials by winning the prestigious Metal 2 the Masses competition, earning a coveted performance slot at Bloodstock Festival. The following year, Liam achieved international recognition by winning the Ibanez Guitar Icon Competition, securing endorsement deals with Ibanez and Laney. With Stages to Osiris: Rebirth, Divided by Design channel this momentum into an ambitious reworking of their debut, reaffirming their status as a band intent on breaking boundaries while honouring their roots.
